But capacity alone does not plan the room: each door needs full swing clearance, and there must be room to manoeuvre a trolley between table and cell. So the unit's position is planned with the other elements, not in isolation.

Transfer and lift: how the body moves

The transfer trolley moves the body on a removable inner tray on 150 mm castors with brakes, available with a stainless steel cover or a leather cover. The hydraulic lift trolley works by hand crank or foot pedal, with a 250 kg maximum load and a 300–1600 mm height range, moving the body between table and cell without manual lifting.

Preparation and autopsy: the tables
