Mortuary Refrigerator — Three Cells

A mortuary cooler, also called a mortuary refrigerator, is a stainless steel cabinet that keeps the deceased chilled at a controlled temperature. The MLM-02 is the three-cell version and the standard Preservus configuration for mid-size hospitals, built in 304 stainless steel inside and out.

The MLM-02 holds +2 to +8°C for standard chilling. It can also be supplied as a freezer running at −10 to −20°C for cases that need longer-term storage, using the same 304 stainless steel cabinet and a 1 HP cooling unit.

The MLM-02 holds three bodies, one per cell, within a single 2200 × 1000 × 2400 mm cabinet. Medica-Lab positions it as the standard configuration for mid-size hospital mortuaries that need more than a one or two-cell unit. Delivery includes on-site installation, connection and temperature testing. The standard load per cell or tray is 200 kg, with a bariatric option available for heavier cases.

The MLM-02 runs on a 1 HP cooling unit on a 50–60 Hz power supply, with 3-phase 380 V / 50 Hz available as an option, and is rated for a working ambient temperature of 32 °C. It is delivered, connected and temperature-tested on site with a written commissioning record.

Standard Preservus units restart automatically once power returns. For sites where power cuts are frequent, the MLM-02 can be ordered with a UPS-backed alarm that keeps the temperature alarm live during an outage, an emergency cooling option, and multiple independent cooling units so a single compressor failure does not compromise the whole cabinet.
