FAQ

What is a morgue fridge called?

A morgue fridge is usually called a mortuary refrigerator. The MLM-04 is the six-cell version in the Preservus range, arranged 2×3 for larger hospitals, built in 304 stainless steel inside and out and holding +2 to +8°C. Units for Saudi customers are made in Madinah, where our quality management system is certified to ISO 13485:2016.

What temperature is a mortuary fridge?

The MLM-04 holds +2 to +8°C for standard chilling. It can also be supplied as a freezer at −10 to −20°C for cases needing longer-term storage, in the same 2200 × 1900 × 2400 mm stainless steel cabinet. Optional extras include multiple cooling units, a UPS alarm, a deodoriser and emergency cooling.

How many bodies does the MLM-04 hold?

The MLM-04 holds six bodies, one per cell, arranged 2×3 inside a single cabinet built for larger hospitals. Optional multiple cooling units keep the cabinet running if one unit needs servicing. Delivery includes on-site installation, connection and temperature testing. Several MLM-04 cabinets can be installed side by side for larger mortuaries. The standard load per cell or tray is 200 kg, with a bariatric option available for heavier cases.

What power supply does the MLM-04 need, and what ambient temperature is it rated for?

The MLM-04 runs on a 2 HP cooling unit on a 50–60 Hz power supply, with 3-phase 380 V / 50 Hz available as an option, and is rated for a working ambient temperature of 32 °C. It is delivered, connected and temperature-tested on site with a written commissioning record.

What happens to the bodies inside the MLM-04 if the power goes out?

Standard Preservus units restart automatically once power returns. For sites where power cuts are frequent, the MLM-04 can be ordered with a UPS-backed alarm that keeps the temperature alarm live during an outage, an emergency cooling option, and multiple independent cooling units so a single compressor failure does not compromise the whole cabinet.

How much does a mortuary fridge cost?

Price depends on the number of cells, the 2×3 arrangement, whether a freezer configuration is chosen, added options such as multiple cooling units or a UPS alarm, the delivery city and the warranty terms. Share these details with Medica-Lab for a written quotation covering the MLM-04.
